Hiawassee UMC delights in giving glory to God through music.  The great reformer, Martin Luther, said: “Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise.  The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music.”  Nothing prepares the heart to receive the Word of God better than hymns and songs of faith.  Many styles of music can be blended to appeal to hearts of all ages.  At Hiawassee UMC we enjoy different styles of music, both old and new, so that everyone will be touched by the music at some point and be drawn closer to God.

In addition to regular participation in the Sunday worship services, there are several ways to serve God through music at Hiawassee UMC.  The Hiawassee UMC Choir, Chime Choir, and special musicians all assist in leading worship regularly.

n      The Hiawassee UMC Choir is made up of adults of all ages.  The Choir assists in leading worship at the Sunday morning services. Additionally, the Choir ministers with special seasonal musicals at various times during the year. No experience necessary.

n      Our newest choir is the Chime Choir, who play tone chime instruments arranged for a small group occasionally at our Sunday morning services. Some experience necessary.

n      Musicians with special desire to minister individually or in small groups are encouraged for our Sunday morning services. By audition only.

As the Lord provides, we will continue to expand the music ministries of Hiawassee UMC to include all who have talent and desire to serve the Lord.
